Mind Meditations Knowhow
If you want to learn to manage stress, build your self confidence or willpower then you will want to learn to meditate. Mind meditations are also good for keeping your body in good physical and emotional health.
You can learn to meditate in just 4 weeks by following the plan below:
Week 1
The first week you are going to concentrate on your conscious thoughts. Sit in a comfortable chair and let your mind wander. Don’t try and stop it but just let it move from one thought to another. Just be aware of these thoughts and don’t repress them. This is the first stage of developing your mind meditations.
Week 2
Now you are aware of your thoughts you can now move on to training your mind to a state similar to self hypnosis. Again you can do this by sitting in a comfortable chair or you can lie down. Lying down though may encourage you to fall asleep. Continue to observe your thoughts and let them come and go in your mind. During this time some people will experience sleep paralysis at night, which can be frightening, but don’t be alarmed as this is a normal occurrence and will pass.
Week 3
This week we are moving on to weeding out those random thoughts. Simply acknowledge them but this time say it aloud eg “I am thinking of what I have to tell my daughter tomorrow”. As you do this those thoughts vanish. Again this week you can be doing these mind meditations sitting or lying down.
Week 4
This is your final week and you will be now refining your skills, remaining in that hypnotic type state and clearing your mind of thoughts. Now though you will be in a state of calm in your body and spirit. If you find thoughts filtering through just go through the process you did last week.
At the end of this 4 week period you should have mastered the skill of mind meditation and begun seeing the benefits it brings in the form of both sleep, lower stress levels and greater concentration and willpower.
